Arrow Fennec aka Mobile Firefox hits Beta 1

It wasn't long ago since Mozilla announced its interest to enter the Mobile Browser market. Shortly after the first information, the alpha builds of Fennec, (Mobile Firefox) became available.

Many goodies we love from Firefox like the popular add-ons are included to Fennec as well. The application just hit Beta 1 and is expected to be available later this year for Windows Mobile, Linux Mobile and Symbian.

The above video demostrates Fennec Beta 1 on Nokia N810 which runs the Linux based, Maemo OS.

Hopefully they will release the Symbian and other versions soon enough.
As of now the beta is only available to Nokia's Linux based, Maemo OS.

The full release notes show what's new in Beta 1, but most people will want to know how to get it on their phones. And the answer is, still, not quite yet—this release is only officially supported on Nokia N810 tablets, or in a kind of emulator for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Most of the changes between the alpha releases and this beta are faster, faster, and faster—panning, zooming, start-up, and other performance tweaks. Check out a video walkthrough of the Beta1's new features:

The way Mozilla Firefox has created a niche for itself in the market it would not be too long before the mobile browser from Mozilla will have attained the same market preference as Firefox. I'm looking forward to have this tested and see it has the same ambience as that provided by Firefox.
