Thumbs up Paramount and Amazon.com goes Blu

Paramount Pictures the only studio left with HD DVD support two days after the official death of Toshiba's HD DVD and a day after the biggest HD DVD supporter; Universal Studios switched to Blu-Ray, broke it's silence and made a statement announcing that they are officially going Blu.

Paramount supported both HD DVD and Blu-Ray when format war was started two years ago but five months ago became HD DVD exclusive after accepting a payoff from Toshiba. This exclusivity ends today making Paramount (including DreamWorks) the last of the six major Hollywood studios to join the Blu-Ray Disk association. Make some space available in your HD movie library since you going to need a place to put Transformers and Indiana Jones as soon as they release in Blu-Ray in the very near future .

In other news Amazon.com just announced it is dropping HD DVD format as well and it will carry Blu-Ray as the main HD format from now on. Now because of that they have great deals and huge sales on HD DVD products, so if for any reason you are still interesting in the dead HD DVD format go on at amazon.com and "burn" some money. This will follow BlockBuster's decision to go Blu-Ray exclusive last year along with the "domino" announcements of Best Buy, Wal-Mart and NetFlix all going Blu last week.
