Blockbuster to buy Circuit City for $1.33 billion
Apr 15, 2008 - 3:34 PM - by Nikos Kartalis
Blockbuster has offered to buy Circuit City Stores for as much as US$1.33 billion in a deal aimed at taking advantage of the global trend of putting media content on electronic devices, the U.S. movie rental giant said Monday.

Blockbuster has offered $6 to $8 per share in cash for Circuit City, depending on the results of a check of Circuit City's books. The per share offer presents a huge markup from Circuit City's closing stock price on Friday of $3.90, and values the company at between $990 million and $1.33 billion, based on the number of outstanding shares of stock Circuit City reported in its most recent quarterly earnings.

Merging with Circuit City would create an $18 billion global retail company and substantially improve the financial performance of the two companies, Blockbuster said.

Microsoft gives deadline to Yahoo, Yahoo! asks for more money
Apr 08, 2008 - 3:24 AM - by Nikos Kartalis
Microsoft gave a three week notice to Yahoo! in order to decide if they accept Microsoft offers for a complete buyout or not and Yahoo reacted today with an official statement.

Here is a quote:

"At the same time, we have continued to make clear that we are not opposed to a transaction with Microsoft if it is in the best interests of our stockholders. Our position is simply that any transaction must be at a value that fully reflects the value of Yahoo!, including any strategic benefits to Microsoft, and on terms that provide certainty to our stockholders."

In other words "give us more money Microsoft, Yahoo! is worth more than what you are giving!"

Now we are waiting for Microsoft reaction to the subject and if they increase their offer a buyout is very possible.

Its not a joke guys this is absolutely serious. All this because of the color of a word... It may sounds like a joke but it isn't.

To support engadget.com many sites including MiVADiKA decided to go Magenta for the day!

This impressive picture displaying Steve Jobs made out of MAC products was created sometime last year and a newer version, with updated Apple products, was released today to the Internet.

We don't know how much time it took to these guys to create it or if they used a Mac instead of PC to do it but we definitely have to congratulate them for this amazing result!
